Welcome to Riverside County's

Budgets, Pensions & Labor Website

Riverside County and every other county and city across California are fighting their way out of the worst recession since the Great Depression. General revenue for community services in our county is down about $190 million this year compared to four years ago, about 25 percent. It will be many years before money is available to provide the level of services Riverside County enjoyed just a few years ago.

Faced with that daunting reality, this web site will help keep residents, county employees and others up to date about budget, pension and labor issues that control the county’s fiscal stability. The intent of these pages is to present a message that is paramount to fiscal reform and stability: Fair Pay, Sustainable Pensions, and Responsible Government.

These pages also will provide information about the current status of collective bargaining. By opening the lines of communication with employees and providing factual information about negotiations, we hope to foster a transparent and honest labor-relations environment. The county’s chief negotiator, Brian B. McArthur, will post updates about current labor negotiations on the Labor page.
